Building the infrastructure for permanent carbon removal and clean energy
French Carbon is dedicated to building decentralized infrastructure that removes CO2 from the atmosphere while generating clean energy and improving soil health. We combine ancient biochar technology with modern engineering to create solutions that address climate change, support rural economies, and enable the clean energy transition.
We believe climate action must be profitable, scalable, and beneficial to all stakeholders — from global corporations to rural farmers.
We measure success by tons of CO2 permanently removed from the atmosphere. Every decision is guided by quantifiable climate impact.
Rural farmers are essential partners, not just suppliers. We ensure fair compensation and long-term partnerships that diversify income streams.
We invest in proprietary engineering and continuous improvement to maximize efficiency, reliability, and impact at scale.
All our operations are third-party verified. Carbon removal, energy production, and emissions are independently audited and reported.
French Carbon brings together deep expertise in carbon technology, renewable energy, and agricultural innovation across France and India.

LinkedInOur India team works hand-in-hand with local farmers and engineers to operate one of the world's largest biomass carbon capture plants. From cotton stalk collection to biochar production, every step involves close collaboration with the communities we serve.
We believe that building lasting impact requires being present — on the ground, in the fields, and inside the reactors.
Our primary focus is Asia — home to an estimated 600 million tons of agricultural waste burned or left unused every year. India alone burns over 100 million tons of crop residues annually, causing massive air pollution across the Indo-Gangetic Plain. China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia face the same challenge at even larger scale.
This waste is not a problem — it is the world's largest untapped resource for permanent carbon removal and clean energy production.
Tons of unused agricultural waste in Asia per year
Tons of CO2 that could be permanently stored per year
Of continuous clean electricity generation capacity
Of carbon-negative electricity produced annually
Based on our proven conversion ratio: 35,000 tons of dry biomass per year produces 19,000 tons of permanently stored CO2 and 3 MW of continuous electricity. If all unused agricultural waste in Asia were processed with our technology, the impact would be transformative — equivalent to roughly 7% of global annual CO2 emissions permanently removed, while generating more electricity than the entire installed capacity of countries like Thailand or Pakistan.
